Ovie of Agbon Kingdom

The Ovie of Agbon is a monarch of the Agbon Kingdom, one of the twenty-four subunits of the Urhobo people in Nigeria. The current Ovie of Agbon Kingdom is His Royal Majesty, Ogurime-Rime Ukori I. He was crowned Ovie in February 2013, succeeding HRM Chamberlain Orovw uje, also known as Ogurime-Rime Okpara I.

Sa'ad Abubakar

Sultan of Sokoto

Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III is the 20th Sultan of Sokoto, born on August 24, 1956, in Sokoto, Nigeria. He is the spiritual leader of Nigeria’s Muslims and the head of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (Society for the Support of Islam – JNI) and the Nigerian National Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA). He attended Barewa College, Zaria, and the Nigerian Defence Academy. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1977 and served in the elite Armored Corps.

He headed a presidential security unit of the Armored Corps that guarded then military ruler General Ibrahim Babangida in the late 1980s. He also commanded a battalion of African peacekeepers in Chad during the early 1980s as part of the Organisation of African Unity’s force. He served as ECOWAS military liaison officer and commanding officer, 231 Tank Battalion (ECOMOG Operations) in Sierra Leone from 1999 to 2000. He became the Sultan of Sokoto on November 2, 2006, following the death of his brother, Muhammadu Maccido.

Ogiame Atuwatse III

Olu of Warri

The current Olu of Warri is Ogiame Atuwatse III, born Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko on April 2, 1984, in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. He is the 21st Olu of Warri and the son of Olu Atuwatse II. He attended NNPC Primary School and Adesoye College.  He earned a BA in International Studies and Political Science and an MSc in Management from Case Western Reserve University. He worked with Shell Nigeria and Sahara Energy, and is a serial entrepreneur.

He is married to Olori Ivie Atuwatse III since 2014, with three children. He crowned Olu on August 21, 2021, following Ogiame Ikenwoli I, amidst controversies, including the theft of the royal crown.
